Lupins are a favourite in any cottage garden with spires of bright flowers in late May and June.
There are many different varieties to choose from including the very bright Lupin Manhattan Lights which have purple and yellow bi-coloured flowers.
If you prefer something a little more subtle Lupin Masterpiece is the one for you as it is a lovely rich purple and red.
Lupins prefer a well-drained soil in full sun and watch out for slugs as Lupins are a favourite snack, especially early in the season.
