A compact, evergreen shrub producing clusters of white flowers that have a reddish purple flush on the outside in late spring and early summer. These have a delicious scent and are followed by rounded red fruits. It is a wonderful plant to include in a mixed border or woodland garden, ideally close to a path or entrance so you can enjoy the scent of the flowers every time you pass.
We suggest that you plant in full sun or partial shade in a moderately fertile well drained soil. Apply a generous mulch in Spring.
Should you wish to prune your Daphne, this should be carried out immediately after flowering, in June and kept to a minimum.
It should be noted that this plant is harmful if eaten and can be a skin and eye irritant.
