May – Geum Totally Tangerine

There has been a surge in popularity in Geums over the past few years, in particular Geum Totally Tangerine, which was seen in many gardens at Chelsea flower show in 2015.
Totally Tangerine starts flowering in early May and will continue throughout the summer reaching a height of approximately 1.2m; it is perfect for the middle of a mixed border.
The vibrant orange colour of this Geum goes particularly well with dark coloured foliage such as that of Cotinus coggygria ‘Royal Purple’.
To make the colour really ‘pop’ plant with blue and purple flowers, such as: Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’.
Geums are generally unfussy when it comes to soil type but they don’t like it wet and always flower best in full sun but keep them well watered during their first growing season in the ground.
